July 27, 2010 — Yesterday Web Blox was approached by Ken Ruettgers, former NFL player for the Green Bay Packers, to help him recreate his lost company website. GamesOver.org, the website of Ken’s non-profit organization that provides online resources and support to retiring athletes transitioning into a new life after professional sports, had not been working and he couldn't reach his web developer.
Mr. Ruettgers informed Web Blox that Sports Illustrated had interviewed him and the article about him and his website was going to be written up in the next issue. Ken also told us that the magazine was to start arriving by mail in only two days, and he needed his website to be recreated by that time. He asked if our team could build and launch a new GamesOver.org website for him since he was in the middle of his vacation and unable to access the Web Blox system. Of course we took the challenge!
Supplied with plenty of articles and other resources he had written over the years, Ken was also able to provide us access to his company logo and web design files that his brother had developed a few years ago.
The new 20-page website was created in only 2 hours—
That's 6 minutes per page!Armed with those images and 20 long pages of written articles, the Web Blox team set out to build the new GamesOver.org website. This is where the story gets real short. One of our team members actually built the new 20-page website by himself in just two hours. That’s six minutes per web page!
The website came together smoothly. The designs were easily uploaded into the Web Blox system. The whole web page structure (site map) was created in mere moments. The lengthy content was copied-and-pasted from MS Word directly into the Web Blox pages. Page sizes and columns were adjusted in seconds. Within just two hours, the new-and-improved GamesOver.org website was created.
The only time-consuming thing was trying to recover Ken’s lost password from his original domain registrar so we could take the website live. But we walked him through the process and his new website went live the day after he called us, with plenty of time for all of the Sports Illustrated readers to read Ken’s amazing story and visit his new company website.
"My original website cost $60,000 and took 6 months to design and develop. Web Blox costs only a few hundred and I can build it in a single afternoon."Ken was thoroughly impressed with Web Blox. Thinking back on how much time and money his original content managed website took to develop and maintain throoghout the 2000's, Ken commented, "My original website cost $60,000 and took 6 months to design and develop. Web Blox costs only a few hundred and I can build it in a single afternoon."
Watch for the August 2, 2010 issue of Sports Illustrated to see the article on Ken Ruettgers and GamesOver.org.
Thank you to Ken Ruettgers @GamesOver.org for trusting Web Blox to build your website.

July 26, 2010 — The fully functional beta version of Web Blox is now available at www.webblox.com. A free 30-day trial is available for users to test the new system out prior to subscribing for the monthly service.
Web Blox was created to provide non-technical website owners with the ability to create their own website without having to depend on web programmers or designers. Web Blox seeks to provide the most used and popular website functions with an extensive library of web designs that can quickly and easily be customized.
The beta version of Web Blox is the core website builder and editor system that allows anyone to create and maintain a basic website. Designs can be selected and customized. Pages can be created. Text can be styled and edited. The beta designation will be removed when the core system is completely refined, which is estimated by the end of 2010.
The ongoing direction of Web Blox is to create several "Blox Apps," which are small web applications that perform specific functionalities that add on to the Web Blox system. Blox Apps will be low cost applications added on as needed to meet the various functions that website owners need most. There are 25 planned Blox Apps, many of which have begun development.
